Jarred Styles - Managing Director

It was inevitable Jarred would establish a career in the events industry with a childhood filled with stuffing envelopes, clicking crowd numbers through the turnstiles and as a general roustabout.

His first real job was as a waiter at the Adelaide Convention Centre whilst completing a Diploma of Business (Tourism) at TAFE SA and a Bachelor of Business (Tourism & Hospitality) at the University of South Australia.

After six incredible months working on Hayman Island in the Whitsundays, Jarred joined the Sales and Marketing department of the Adelaide Convention Centre in 1997 during his last year of university. As the Business Development Executive, one of his main achievements was developing the MS&R Project created to attract medical and scientific conferences and exhibitions to Adelaide.

In 2000 Jarred joined Australian Major Events (now Events South Australia, a division of the South Australia Tourism Commission). As Sponsorship Services Manager he coordinated hospitality, signage, promotions, advertising and branding for over 110 sponsors for the Jacob’s Creek Tour Down Under, Mitsubishi Adelaide International Horse Trials, Tasting Australia, Classic Adelaide Rally, World Solar Challenge, Adelaide Rose Festival and Encounter 2002.

A once in a lifetime opportunity in 2004 enabled Jarred to set up his own event management business Relish Productions managing Basil Sellers’ 70th birthday celebrations, perhaps the most elaborate private party ever held in Adelaide.

When Jarred is not organising someone else’s event he loves to entertain at home, is an avid cook and gardener, seeker of great dining experiences and enjoys travelling with his family.

Raquel Styles – Account Director

The eldest of three daughters, Raquel had little desire to pursue a career in the family business of commercial building until they purchased Morgans , a boutique hotel in Darlinghurst, Sydney.

Work experience at the hotel and subsequent casual employment sparked an interest in the industry which led to completing a Bachelor of Hospitality at the University of Western Sydney.

Her hospitality experience was broadened through time working at Hayman Island Resort and the Parramatta Parkroyal before following her heart to Adelaide in 1996. Raquel progressively worked through the ranks at the Adelaide Convention Centre, initially as a receptionist before being promoted to Reservations Manager and finally Event Services Manager. As the main contact between the client and venue, Raquel coordinated a broad range of professional and industry, local, national and international conferences and events.

In the past ten years Raquel has juggled bringing three beautiful children into the world, established a new business and managed two house renovations, the perfect life experience to run a successful event management business.

When she’s not being the world’s greatest mum or chasing unpaid invoices Raquel has a keen eye for fashion, is the absolute dessert master and dreams about having the time to sit by a pool read a good book.

Phillip & Robyn Styles - Founders & Global Ambassadors

Phillip & Robyn Styles established Phillip Styles Marketing in 1982 following various public relations and marketing positions in the media and arts industries which included the role of Publicity Manager for the 1974-82 Adelaide Festival of Arts.

Phillip was the Sponsorship and Licensing Consultant for the South Australian Jubilee 150 celebrations and Sponsorship Consultant for the 84 and 88 Adelaide Festival of Arts.

Over the years they have created and developed the AFTA Sunday Mail Holiday Expo and Qantas Business Travel Shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth. Other management projects include the SA Electronics Expos, South Australia’s presence at World Expo in Brisbane, opening of Adelaide Convention Centre’s Exhibition Hall ‘SA on Show’ exhibition, the inaugural Australian Grand Prix Ball, Gala Dinner for the Adelaide Oval Centenary Test, the South Australian Tourism Awards, Adelaide Convention Centre Christmas in the Snow and the opening exhibition of Adelaide Convention Centre extension ‘World Stage’ to name a few.

For over twenty years Robyn managed all client liaisons, exhibition equipment hire and all accounting responsibilities. A little more flexibility in her routine these days Robyn divides her time between five grandchildren, keeps fit with her great group of gym girls and is a damn fine cook!

Phillip has held many board positions that included Chairman of the Adelaide Convention & Tourism Authority, Chairman of Australian Major Events, Deputy Chairman of South Australian Tourism Commission and Board Member of the Adelaide Convention Centre and South Australian Regional Tourism Board and was a Director of Exhibitions SA.

In 1998 Phillip received the ‘Chairman’s Trophy’ at the Australian Federation of Travel Agents Awards for Excellence and in 2002 the prestigious ‘Outstanding Contribution by an Individual’ at the Yellow Pages South Australian Tourism Awards.

Phillip is currently a Director of Adelaide Expotise (a Turnstyles preferred supplier), Chairman Westminster School, fabulous grandfather and prolific traveller promoting Turnstyles throughout the globe.
